Catalogue Description

This course familiarizes the novice teacher with a variety of high interest, developmentally appropriate books written for children. Students will explore and discuss the various writing genres including fairy tales and fables, animal stories, fantasy, fiction and non-fiction and humor and poetry for the purpose of enriching the childs reading experience. Bachelor students will focus on writing in these genres and plan reading/writing lessons and lead class discussions.
