Description

The Associate of Applied Science in Accounting is designed to give students specialised training to prepare them for positions in accounting. Students completing the AAS degree may qualify for some advanced standing if they later attend the University College or other tertiary institutions. The main emphasis of the degree is on developing specific vocational skills such as planning, organising, motivating, decision-making, and controlling within an accounting context.

Programme Objectives

Programme Objectives for the Associate of Applied Science in Accounting:

  1. Students will be able to demonstrate vocational skills in the principal functional areas of accounting.

  2. Students will be able to produce and present effective oral and written forms of business communication.

  3. Students will be able to use current technology and computer applications in accounting practices.

  4. Students will be able to describe and illustrate the significance of the principal functional areas of accounting.

This programme is two years for full-time students.
